How much does a construction defect lawsuit cost?

The total cost of prosecuting a lawsuit will depend upon a number of factors, including the nature and amount of damages, the complexity of the facts, the number of parties, and the attitude of the parties. Some lawsuits are settled within a relatively short period of time, while others are not resolved without a trial. Lawsuits can be expensive, and close cooperation between the property owner and the attorney is imperative in order to minimize costs as much as possible.

One of the major costs is that of expert consultants. These costs are usually discussed and factored into the settlement negotiations since some of the expert’s fees for developing the repair plan and monitoring the reconstruction work may be recoverable at trial. An expert's costs will depend upon the nature and extent of the defects and the size of the project. Some cases require one or two experts, while other, more complex cases may require a larger number of experts.

We take into consideration the time sensitivity of construction cases and work towards a rapid solution, whether through Mediation, Arbitration, Litigation or Negotiation.
