What about a home-solicitation (door-to-door sales) contract?

In California, home solicitation contracts may be cancelled until midnight of the third business day after the contract was signed. A “home solicitation contract or offer” is a contract or offer subject to approval, for the rental, lease or sale of goods or services that is made any place other than the seller’s regular place of business for $25.00 or more. However, excluded are contracts with licensed contractors for repair services if the contract is less than $100.00 and the contract negotiations were initiated by the buyer, the contract contains a written and dated statement signed by the buyer indicating such negotiations; contracts under which the consumer has the right to rescind under Title 1, Chap. 2 § 125 of the Federal Consumer Credit Protection Act; and excludes "goods" such as registered vehicles, mobile homes, or most goods sold with them. Included “goods” are tangible items for household, family or personal use such as certificates and coupons, as well as items to be affixed to the real property. Included “services” means work, labor and services for commercial or residential property. The notice of cancellation must be written, and must be either postmarked if mailed, or hand-delivered by midnight of the third business day.
